Southern Xplorer - Gravel Moto Tour
24 Days - The Big One

Southern Xplorer Road MapExperience the heartbeat of Africa. Join us on this epic ride, “the long way round” to Victoria Falls on some of the continent’s most fantastic and lonely gravel roads, ancient deserts and awesome wildlife along the way.

Our tour starts in laid back Cape Town, the Mother City, and heads due north through the West Coast region to the Namibian border at Noordoewer. The scenic beauty and fantastic gravel roads makes Namibia one of our tour highlights. After exciting rides to the Great Fish River Canyon, Namib Naukluft Park, Swakopmund, Spitzkoppe and the Etosha National Park we follow the Namibian panhandle to Divundu and Katima Mulilo where we will cross the Linyanti river to enter Botswana. We ride to Victora Falls, Zimbabwe and the magnificent Victoria Falls.

The journey now turns south towards Bulawayo and the Matopo Hills (the final resting place of Cecil John Rhodes). We re-enter Botswana and ride south to Francistown, Gaberone and Kimberley. Some more glorious gravel riding awaits us on the road to Loxton and Sutherland. Riding the Great Karoo gravel roads and passes brings a fitting closure to a great adventure tour.

Experience the pristine beauty of the region on a motorcycle with good food and comfortable stays to complement your adventure packed moto-days.
